It gradually gave way to μετά, with genitive, and is therefore comparatively infrequent in NT, being rare in, and elsewhere (exx. ) only in Lk (Gosp. and Ac) and Paul. With, together with: of companionship and association, εἶναι σύν τινι, of partisanship; οἱ σύν τινι, of attendants, companions or colleagues, of assistance, ἡ χάρις θεοῦ σὺν ἐμοί; of two or more things together, almost = καί,; σὺν Χριστῷ ζῆν; besides (FlJ, LXX), σὺν πᾶσι τούτοις.
